Save a Girl, Save a World (SAGSAW) is a registered 501c3, multi-generational mentoring and esteem building program assisting young girls and young women with a continued pipeline of support through mentorship programs and partnerships.
Entering its 12th year, SAGSAW’s annual signature retreat held at HBCU’s each Fall!
Each fall SAGSAW assembles a network of some of the brightest and most accomplished women from coast to coast to work as mentors. The program aims to help mentees in gaining focus and addressing real-life situations. Over the years, SAGSAW successfully implemented several core programs including She CEO, Speak Up Project, A Seat at My Sister’s Table, and a host of initiatives to further engage, inspire and support our mentees.
Our Four Pillars
Career & Entrepreneurship
We introduce mentors who encourage mentees to pursue their dreams in career and/or entrepreneurship.
Financial Literacy & Wealth Legacy
We build financial acumen of young women to prepare them to successfully manage their finances and create a legacy for themselves and their families
Health and Wellness
We encourage a strong mind, body, and spirit to build self-esteem and confidence.
Lifestyle & Leadership
We provide learning opportunities to instill a firm foundation to build character, self-esteem, and leadership development.
Black Women have always been at the center of change. We must continue to build the bench of women ready to step out of the shadows, put on their breastplate of courage and righteousness, and keep their feet firm in readiness.

Hear from some of the SAGSAW girls
"I just want to give my sincere thanks for all that you have done for me as a college mentee. Save A Girl, Save A World continues to help me push towards my passions, reach for my goals and allow no obstacle to stop me. As I was enjoying my second year at the retreat I was unexpectedly awarded the Kathleen L. M. Wikes scholarship of $3,500 sponsored by SAGSAW and Volkswagen. I'm so very grateful and thankful, even though I felt as if I didn't deserve it. The women in this program quickly reminded me why I did by keeping me positive, cheering and even shedding a few tears as I accepted this scholarship. At that moment I realized why Save A Girl, Save A World was so important. It builds young girls into young women, it teaches girls the value of gratitude and working hard and it allows you to understand that no matter how hard the journey may be someone always has your back. This retreat has been refreshing but mostly amazing because of the women who embedded their time into our lives. Thank you so much Save A Girl, Save A World!"
