It Takes a Village: Why Our Community Matters More Than Ever

Every young woman deserves someone to believe in her.

Someone to tell her she is capable.

Someone to open a door, make an introduction, answer a question, or simply remind her that her dreams are possible.

That belief is at the heart of Save A Girl, Save A World (SAGSAW).

For more than 15 years, SAGSAW has been creating opportunities for girls and young women to discover who they are, explore who they can become, and build the confidence to get there. Through mentorship, leadership development, college and career exposure, entrepreneurship programs, wellness initiatives, scholarships, and life-changing experiences, SAGSAW has helped young women see a future that is bigger than their circumstances.

But the story of SAGSAW is not really about a program.

It's about people.

It's about the young woman who arrives unsure of herself and leaves knowing her voice matters.

It's about the student who never imagined herself on a college campus but now calls one home.

It's about the future entrepreneur who turns an idea into a business.

It's about the young leader who learns that she belongs in rooms where decisions are being made.

These moments happen every day because someone decided to invest in a young person.

A mentor.

A volunteer.

A donor.

A community partner.

A neighbor.

Someone like you.

At SAGSAW, we often say that we are building the next generation of leaders. But leadership doesn't happen by accident. It happens when a community comes together and says, "We believe in our young people."

That's why our upcoming Juneteenth Fundraiser is so important.

This isn't just a card party.

This isn't just a game night.

This is a community coming together to make sure our girls continue to have access to opportunities, experiences, and resources that help them thrive.

The reality is that organizations like SAGSAW cannot wait for large corporations or private foundations to solve every challenge. While those partnerships are important, real change begins at home.

It begins in our neighborhoods.

It begins around our kitchen tables.

It begins when community members decide that the future of our young people is everyone's responsibility.

Our relief starts right here.

When someone purchases a ticket, becomes a sponsor, volunteers their time, donates a raffle prize, or simply tells a friend about SAGSAW, they become part of the story.

They become part of the village.

And villages change lives.

This Juneteenth, we invite you to join us for an evening filled with laughter, music, food, games, fellowship, and purpose. Whether you're playing Spades, Bid Whist, Dominoes, Tunk, Uno, or simply enjoying the company of friends and family, every dollar raised helps us continue investing in girls and young women who are counting on us.

Because when a community shows up for its young people, incredible things happen.

Dreams become plans.

Plans become opportunities.

Opportunities become success stories.

And success stories become legacies.

The future of our girls is not someone else's responsibility. IT'S OURS!

Join us. Support us. Celebrate with us.

Together, we can continue saving a girl and changing her world.
