Building Legacy on Campus

At Save A Girl, Save A World (SAGSAW), we have always believed that mentorship, leadership, and sisterhood are most impactful when they happen in real time and in real spaces where young women are actively growing, learning, and discovering who they are becoming. As our organization continued to expand nationally, we recognized the importance of creating intentional on-campus communities that would allow our students to stay connected to the SAGSAW mission beyond conferences, summits, and enrichment experiences.

What began as a vision to deepen student engagement has quickly blossomed into a growing movement across our University campuses. Today, our campus chapters are creating meaningful opportunities for leadership development, mentorship, wellness conversations, entrepreneurship, community engagement, and authentic sisterhood.

Most importantly, these chapters are not simply extensions of SAGSAW, they are becoming living examples of the mission in action, led by passionate young women who are committed to creating impact within their own campus communities.

To each of our chapter leaders, members, and campus ambassadors: thank you for your commitment, creativity, and dedication to the vision of SAGSAW. Your leadership does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly proud of the work you are doing.

Clark Atlanta University — The Beginning of the Vision

The SAGSAW chapter at Clark Atlanta University was officially established in 2022 and became the foundation for what would eventually grow into a broader campus initiative across multiple universities.

This pilot chapter was established with the support and leadership of SAGSAW Board Chair, KC Snapp and Ernita Hemmitt, Faculty Advisor and Dean of Students at CAU, whose belief in the importance of student wellness, leadership, and mentorship helped bring the vision to life.

From the very beginning, the CAU chapter embodied the heart of SAGSAW. It became a safe and empowering space where students could connect across generations, engage in honest conversations, access mentorship, and participate in experiences designed to support both personal and professional growth.

As the first official chapter, CAU helped shape what on-campus engagement would look like for SAGSAW moving forward. The chapter has continued to serve as a strong example of leadership, excellence, and intentional programming while helping students navigate college life with confidence, purpose, and support.

Howard University — Student-Led Excellence

In 2025, SAGSAW proudly expanded its footprint to Howard University through the leadership and initiative of rising senior Sydnie Collins.

Driven by her passion for mentorship, leadership, and community, Sydnie took the initiative to help establish a presence for SAGSAW on one of the nation’s most prestigious university campuses. Her leadership reflects exactly what SAGSAW stands for, young women stepping confidently into positions of influence and creating opportunities not only for themselves, but for those around them.

Since its establishment, the Howard University chapter has already begun cultivating meaningful student engagement and building excitement around SAGSAW’s mission. Through leadership development, mentorship conversations, wellness initiatives, and peer connection, the chapter is helping students feel seen, supported, and empowered during critical stages of their academic and professional journeys.

The Howard chapter represents the power of student-led leadership and the importance of giving young women the tools, platform, and support needed to lead boldly within their own communities.

Morgan State University — A New Chapter Already Making Impact

In May 2026, SAGSAW proudly established its newest campus chapter at Morgan State University. Although the chapter is newly formed, the momentum has already begun.

From the start, the excitement, energy, and commitment from the students involved have demonstrated that the Morgan State chapter is prepared to hit the ground running. The chapter has already begun laying the foundation for meaningful engagement, future programming, and campus-wide impact that aligns with SAGSAW’s mission of mentorship, empowerment, leadership, and wellness.

The rapid enthusiasm surrounding the launch of the Morgan State chapter is a testament to the continued need for intentional spaces that support and uplift young women on and off campuses. As the chapter continues to grow, we are excited to witness the creativity, leadership, and innovation these students will bring to the SAGSAW family.

The Future of SAGSAW Campus Chapters

The growth of SAGSAW chapters across campuses represents far more than organizational expansion. It represents a commitment to meeting students where they are, creating spaces that prioritize wellness and leadership, and empowering young women to become active change makers within their own communities.
